Cranberry Ginger Syrup

This Cranberry Ginger Syrup is the base of many holiday cocktails.  We mix it with vodka, gin, make a martini, a mimosa and it is an awesome margarita with lime and some green salt around the rim. Sparkling water for a festive non alcoholic option.  The cocktails are a pretty red, tasty and festive – if is one of the holiday traditions starting in November in our house!

Cranberry Ginger Syrup
Variations of a Cranberry Cocktail are the secret to a festive holiday gathering in my opinion. I make the Cranberry Ginger syrup and store it in the refrigerator so I can make a cocktail at the spur of the moment. The syrup is easy to make and is so versatile. These three festive holiday cocktails will get you through the holiday season and beyond with grace and ease
  • 1 ½ cup of Sugar
  • 3 cups of Water
  • 2 cups +/- fresh Cranberries or frozen (8 oz)
  • 1” to 1 ½” piece of fresh Ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil then reduce heat. Let the liquid simmer about 10 minutes, until the sugar is dissolved. Set the pan aside to cool. Once the liquid is cool strain the contents, pressing down on the solids. Yield 3 ½ Cups
*This syrup will keep up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
