Another fall day…and it’s gorgeous out! Today I’m not shooting this Table Talk video in the most glamorous place, but this is our outdoor kitchen, and here is where we cook The Turkey for Thanksgiving on our grill, weather permitting. The guys love to be out here on Thanksgiving. And if I’m not prepared, I’m the one who is stuck in the kitchen and I don’t like that. Because they tend to be here having fun and I want to be with them! So, the more prepared I am, the less time I have to spend in the kitchen. Now, weather is something we can’t control, but what we can manage is our stress levels. And as we all know, the less stressed out we are, the happier we’ll be…and our guests, too. Here’s what I’m planning on doing this weekend….How about you, tell me below or on Facebook!
Here’s what I’m going to do this weekend and early next week. Let me know what you’re doing; if you write it down, the chances are you’ll do it and follow through!
1. Get out the Recipe Book
2. Create a Shopping list.
3. Go to the grocery store on Friday.
4. Make Cranberry Sauce this weekend.
5. Make the brine for the Turkey this weekend.
6. Tuesday evening I’ll set it out and the skin will be nice and crisp.
You and I are a kindred spirits. I can’t survive holidays if I don’t plan. I have a canned holiday meal shopping list that I print out every year.
Great minds think alike! Planning ahead and being organized gives me the gift of enjoying the day. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!!!
Such great tips. It is hard to be in the kitchen when others are in the other room watching tv or playing games or just hanging out. Planning is so essential to a great Thanksgiving dinner.
Yes, it is. I hope you have a great holiday!
Organization is key! thanks for sharing your tips. No on likes to be stuck in the kitchen when everyone else is gathered in another room or outside enjoying themselves. And like you have shared – so much can be done ahead of time.
It is amazing how much we can do in advance. Things always pop up so it really helps to be in control.
